Hi, this is Dr. Baron with Clear Path Counseling. Yes, that’s a bunch of snow behind me—as you know, it’s been quite a winter so far. I’m here to remind you to make sure you’re taking care of yourself by getting some movement, getting out of the house when you can, going to the gym, and doing the things that feed you.

These winter months can be very difficult and can feel lonely, often bringing on the winter blues—especially after Christmas and the holidays. It’s important to keep your body moving, get some exercise, and treat your loved ones with compassion as well.

Take time to ask yourself, “What am I doing for me?” Sometimes we become reactionary and want to make big decisions—like moving somewhere warmer—but that’s not always realistic.

Remember that this is just a season. There are many seasons in life, and while this one may feel long and never-ending, it will pass. When we make reactionary decisions, we often create more suffering in the long run.

So continue focusing on self-care, and be compassionate and understanding toward your loved ones who may be experiencing similar challenges. We’re here for you at Clear Path—stay warm, stay active, and take care.
